This customer had a garage door automated by our sister company The Garage Door Centre and enquired about changing their ageing gate and automation.
Following conversations on design, size, type and colour of the new gates a design was agreed and the original main posts were to be reused to save cost with two more posts for the addition of a new side panel and new pedestrian access gate.
All the gates and panel were bespoke, constructed from Idigbo and stained in Osmo 420 clear oil, the new posts were oak to match the originals and also coated in same Osmo oil. The original ducting across the road was utilised to run new cabling for the automation to keep the newly laid resin driveway intact and looking good.
With the addition of a new pedestrian gate and a simple slide latch the customer decided not to have an intercom fitted and use the original ring doorbell instead with a new keypad for pin code access and remote controls for vehicle entry and exit. As the customer owned the fence and small strip of land behind it was decided all the cabling from the control panel would run through the fence then along the rear to keep all cabling hidden from view including the rear photocell further in the drive making a clean wire free appearance.
Due to the adjustable hinge style on these gates hinge safe edges were fitted to stop finger traps so if anything was in the area the gates would stop and reverse, we also fitted a centre safe edge hardwired underneath the gate in a purpose made cable slot to protect pedestrians between the gates when closing and photocells front and rear to protect vehicles.
Automation was with Came axo 24v rams with encoder control for even more safety and the latest Came 24v control board to run them.
