Overview

Hollywell Building Services contacted the AGD team with an enquiry for the installation of a bespoke 8-metre cantilever sliding gate system. This was required to improve site access for larger vehicles that had previously used the car park gates. Hollywell Building Services are an established construction contractor that specialise in planning and maintenance for many sectors, including Rail, Education, Health and Local Government as well as small-scale civil engineering projects across the South and East of England.

Process

Following the enquiry, our surveyor conducted a site visit with the customer and confirmed the gate specifications. This meeting covered all site-specific requirements, the installation process, and the delivery method via Hiab lorry. The completed cantilever sliding gate offers strong security and ease of operation. The system includes:-

• Pre-fabricated drop-in cantilever sliding gate.
• GSM intercom for access control.
• Additional keypad on the inside pedestrian use when required.
• Underground auto-exit loop detector for ease of exit.
• Two moveable height restriction barriers at 2.7M installed on the existing gates to allow cars and vans only into this area.

This installation was completed in 6 days, with minimum disruption to the business operation. Our work not only meets but exceeds expectations in terms of functionality, durability, and high safety standards. This project complies with British Rail’s strict health and safety standards, as well as adhering to their site access regulations and time limits.
